Privacy Policy
Overview
This policy explains how Naam Japa Counter (“we”, “us”, “our”) handles information when you use https://radhanaamcounter.com/ (the “Site”/“App”). We designed the app to be privacy-respecting and to keep your practice data on your device whenever possible.
Last updated: 24 August 2025
What stays on your device
- Japa count & settings: Your count, optional mantra text, and small UI preferences are stored locally (e.g., cookies or local storage) in your browser. We don’t receive this data.
- Guru audio: If you use Guru mode, audio plays locally on your device; we don’t upload your audio file.
Information we may process
- Basic usage analytics: We use Umami (privacy-friendly) and Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage (pages, devices, referrers). See “Analytics” below.
- Advertising data: If we show ads via Google AdSense, Google may use cookies or mobile ad identifiers to serve ads (personalized or non-personalized). See “Advertising” below.
- Server logs: Like most sites, our host may log IP address, user agent, and requested URLs for security and reliability.
Analytics
We use two analytics tools to improve the App:
- Umami Analytics — a lightweight, privacy-minded tool typically operating without cookies. It collects anonymous, aggregate usage metrics (e.g., page views, device type, referrer). We use this to understand which features are helpful and to improve performance.
- Google Analytics (GA4) — may use cookies and collects aggregated usage data (pages visited, events). We’ve configured IP anonymization where supported and we don’t use GA to track your personal mantra data. You can opt out via the GA Opt-out Add-on.
-
Posthog Analytics — We use PostHog Analytics to better understand how visitors interact
with our website and to improve our services. PostHog allows us to track user activity in a
privacy-respectful way without relying on invasive third-party advertising networks.
PostHog may collect the following types of information:
Device details (e.g., browser type, operating system, screen size).
Usage data (e.g., pages visited, buttons clicked, time spent on pages, navigation paths).
Technical information such as IP address (anonymized where possible) and referring website.
Legal bases (EEA/UK): legitimate interests in improving the service, or consent where required.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We may show ads using Google AdSense. AdSense and its partners may use cookies or mobile identifiers to:
- Serve and measure ads;
- Perform frequency capping and fraud prevention;
- Show personalized ads based on your activity (where permitted).
In some regions (e.g., EEA/UK), we may present a consent prompt. If you decline personalized ads, you may still see non-personalized ads. Manage your Google ad settings at adssettings.google.com. Learn more at Google Ads & Cookies.
Cookies & local storage
- Strictly necessary: Local cookies/storage to keep your japa count and preferences.
- Analytics: GA4 cookies (where applicable); Umami typically operates cookieless.
- Advertising: AdSense cookies/identifiers if ads are shown and where permitted.
You can clear cookies/local storage in your browser settings. Note: clearing will reset your japa count.
Data retention
Local japa data persists on your device until you clear it. Analytics and ad platforms retain aggregate data per their policies. We retain necessary server logs briefly to ensure security and reliability.
Your rights & choices
- Opt-out of analytics: Use the GA opt-out add-on, tracking protection, or browser settings.
- Ads controls: Manage Google ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
- Access/Deletion (GDPR/UK/CCPA/CPRA): You may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
- “Do Not Sell or Share” (US states): If applicable, contact us to opt out of data “sale/sharing” as defined by state laws.
Children’s privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your region). If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we’ll delete it.
International transfers
Analytics/ads providers may process data on servers outside your country. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (e.g., standard contractual clauses).
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date.
